Lars Sorensen, CTO
It’s well known that diverse experiences and interests can spur innovation, and that people with multi-cultural, multi-lingual backgrounds are often the most innovative. Lars grew up in Denmark, has lived in the U.S. for more than 20 years, and is fluent in three languages. Combining his diverse cultural history with a natural curiosity and deep understanding of a wide array of technologies, Lars often surprises even people who know him well with his broad knowledge. Anyone who has known Lars for very long will often wonder, “how does he know so much about that?” When presented with almost any design problem, whether it concerns user interface, communication protocols, or operating system issues, Lars always has an elegant solution.
Lars was a Distinguished Member of the Technical Staff at Motorola in the Advanced Technology Group, which focused on the development and introduction of new software technologies for data-capable Smartphones and other mobile internet devices. Lars was a chief architect on Motorola’s first Smartphone, and was the lead software architect for PrairieComm’s software reference design, which shipped phones under the Mitsubishi, Panasonic, and Motorola Brands.
Lars holds a Master’s Degree in Computer Engineering from Aalborg University, Denmark, and also has been awarded two patents on GSM cellular phone technology.
